“Understudy
Marissa Hecker was patronizingly paternal as President Wilson, bringing gleeful pomposity and comic lechery to her showstopper “Ladies.”

about me
If Sarah Silverman and Weird Al had a baby...
I’m Marissa, an all-purpose artist.
My mission is to evoke empathy, truth, and humor across different artistic planes.
I strive to create courageously and esoterically - on stage, page, and screen.
As a performer, my vocal style spans from Hozier to Laura Benanti: Contralto, Mezzo Belter, and Coloratura Soprano. My favorite genre to sing is 70s folk, and my go-to dance class is Int/Adv Contemporary Theatre with Mayte Natalio at Steps.
As a writer, I specialize in musical comedy.
My channel, "Broadway Busts!", parodies today's performing arts industry from a loving perspective. I always look forward performing originals live (especially at UCB East Village).
I passionately amplify marginalized stories in my community (currently pursuing this in “Suffs.”)
I center progressive voices, especially Black, Indiginous, and Trans individuals, and participate in mutual aid. Power to the people!
